Appointments can be made by dialling 01279 639 791 and selecting option 1 (if you don't have a tone-dial phone just wait, your call will be answered).
The appointments desk is open from 8:00am although we prefer non-urgent calls from 8:30am; it stays open until 6:30pm. The appointments desk is constantly manned by at least one receptionist. Obviously, at certain times of the day, especially first thing in the morning, the lines are extremely busy. The telephone calls are automatically stacked up and answered in rotation.
Please be patient when ringing in to the surgery, especially if your call is not answered immediately. If the telephone has the ringing tone, you can be sure that you are connected and will be answered in turn.
Some appointments with your usual GP are available to book online using SystmOnline. Click here for details.
Depending on whether you wish to see a doctor, the nurse practitioner, the practice nurse or another member of the primary health team, your call, when answered, will be at the appropriate extension where your appointment will be made. If your telephone call is not urgent, please try to call at a less busy period later in the day to relieve the pressure on the telephone receptionists. At this surgery we prefer patients to see their own doctor for continuity of care although this is not always possible.
Urgent appointments may have to see whichever doctor is working as "duty" on that day.
Appointments are usually scheduled for the following times but are subject to change without notice:
Monday to Friday 8:10am to 11:50am and 1:30pm to 5:50pm.
Self Check-In Screens
There are three computers installed in our waiting room which enable patients to book themselves in without having to queue at the desk. Just use the touch sensitive screens to enter the requested information so that the system can book you in. If you have any difficulties then please go to the desk for assistance.
The screens are located on the ground floor just to the right of the waiting room entrance.
Please use the hand-gel BEFORE and AFTER touching the screens.
Evening and Weekend Service
You can now see a GP or another healthcare professional on weekday evenings and weekends. To book an appointment, please call the surgery. To find out more about the service, including the treatment centres where you may be seen, please go to https://hucweb.co.uk/services/gp-extended-access/
If you have booked an evening or weekend appointment in West Essex via your GP surgery and need to cancel or change it, please ring NHS111 and select option 3.
